Melbourne restrictions continue to hit businesses hard - TickerTV Reporter Jack Nyhof took the streets of the Chapel Street Precinct to interview how its businesses are pivoting to survive the lockdown.

COVID Tracer CEO Brian Pham said it was “ludicrous” that the Victorian government had given businesses the option to record customer details on pen and paper or be slugged $280 a month to use its recommended tracing app Salesforce.
“This is not an affordable option for small businesses living through a recession,” he said.

The founder of a new virus tracing app and says the Victorian government has failed to provide clear instructions on contact tracing to businesses before they reopen.
COVIDTracer launched last month and founder Brian Pham said it was already being used by 4000 companies across Australia, including McDonald’s franchises, retailers, law courts and councils.

Rich Lister-backed online cleaning marketplace Whizz is readying for an initial public offering early next year, after last week acquiring its local rival, Get Jarvis.
The business, which was founded in late 2014 and is now led by former Drive.com.au CEO Anthony Pettiona, is an end-to-end platform for vetted cleaners, allowing them to find jobs, bid for and accept bookings, document their work and take payments.

Restaurants, pubs and cafe owners across Chapel Street are coming up with innovative plans to serve customers outdoors. In collaboration with Stonnington Council, Chapel Street Precinct Association designed parks with social circles taking out the hassle of socially distancing.
Melburnians can now pick up a picnic hamper from a participating Chapel Street venue and head to the park to catch up on some missed out Vitamin D.

Mysterious circles have appeared in parks around Chapel Street. The Chapel Street Retail Precinct and the City of Stonnington have painted up to 50 picnic circles spread throughout the iconic strip.
Many of Chapel Street's famous cafes have begun selling hampers to picnic goers who can venture out in a group of five after Monday's easing of restrictions. General Manger of CSPA, Chrissie Maus, said it was hoped the circles would give the area a boost.
"The main thing is building trust with out community and making sure they know as they came out of their homes and they get some sun, they can enjoy and support our businesses but also feel safe at the same time." Chrissie Maus said.

A Melbourne video production company has put together a short video documenting the stages of lockdown.
Monster & Bear put a call out for video submission from Melburnians, and was overwhelmed by the responses providing a rare window into how Melburnians are coping with isolation.
“We went into it with the intention of normalising what everyone was feeling, and we didn’t know what that feeling was going to be,” Creative Director of Monster and Bear, Sarah Hickey, told Dee Dee.
“When we started to receive the material we were finding that everyone, to be honest, was starting to go a little bit crazy.”
