Cricketer Adam Zampa buys into Ambra to ride limoncello wave

CLIENT: Ambra

OUTLET: Australian Financial Review

Australian cricketer Adam Zampa has invested in limoncello-maker Ambra Spirits, which is raising $3 million to capitalise on strong growth in the lemon-flavoured Italian liqueur. Ambra, established in 1998, was among the first to make limoncello in Australia. Sales of the liqueur have grown strongly, with the spritz cocktail category generating a 40 per cent increase in sales last year, according to industry statistics from Circana.

Zampa’s partnership with Ambra is no surprise - the spin bowler has been a vocal limoncello devotee for years, famously branding his Instagram handle as limoncello.papi and even sporting a tattoo of the liquor. Now, his love of the drink has turned into a business venture, joining forces with DL COMMS client Ambra Spirits to bring the zesty Italian classic to more Australian glasses. The collaboration launched this week with coverage in the Australian Financial Review by Simon Evans.
