A $40 billion oil and gas deposit lies 50 kms inside the East Timor section of the median border. East Timor wants possession of a boundary and that it be drawn halfway between the two countries in accordance with international law (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea). Australia has resisted both.

Steve Bracks appears on ABC Breakfast News to raise awareness in helping Timor-Leste achieve permanent, equitable maritime boundaries in the Timor Sea with Indonesia and Australia.

Bracks also promotes his new film, which engages and motivates Australians about the need to draw a just and permanent border in the Timor Sea, following a story that will shock many Australians if they knew the facts.
